Build reasoning skills for Olympiad preparation
Olympiad preparation asks a learner to apply ideas in unfamiliar situations. TutorBee offers a separate Olympiad workspace with exam enrollments, reasoning explanations and timed mock practice, so competition preparation can be organised alongside school learning.
Start with the exam you are preparing for
Choose the available exam enrollment for the child. A child can hold multiple enrollments. TutorBee uses exam-oriented paper formats where supported; or similar style olympiad mock papers.
Practise reasoning before speed
Ask how an answer follows from the information in the question. Compare possible approaches and discuss why an incorrect option looks tempting. Deeper explanations support higher-order reasoning practice. Once a learner understands the approach, timed mock papers can help them practise pacing.
Review the mock, then target the gap
Look beyond the total score. Separate unanswered questions from misunderstandings and avoidable mistakes. Use the Olympiad workspace to revisit attempts and choose further practice. Olympiad packs are optional, separately metered additions for a child’s exam enrollment; they do not use the same limits as school-plan worksheets.
Try it together
A reasoning warm-up before a mock paper
Try this illustrative pattern question: 2, 6, 12, 20, __. Ask for an explanation before accepting an answer.
- Find the differences between neighbouring numbers: 4, 6 and 8.
- Explain the proposed rule: the differences increase by 2 each time.
- Using that rule, the next difference is 10 and the next number is 30.
- Discuss the assumption: short sequences may admit other rules, so a complete question and its options matter.
Questions from parents
Are these actual Olympiad exam questions?
No. TutorBee creates sample questions for practice, informed by past exam patterns and relevant study materials. These samples are independently generated and have no connection to actual exam questions. They are not official papers, reproductions of past papers or predictions of questions that will appear in an upcoming exam.
Can my child prepare for multiple Olympiads?
Yes. A child may have multiple separately managed exam enrollments, with packs and usage tracked for the relevant enrollment.
Does a school subscription include every Olympiad pack?
No. Olympiad packs are optional additions with separate allowances and validity periods. Review the available pack for the selected exam before purchasing.
